Appreciating Mazda’s Appreciation

What is up everyone? Last week, I had the pleasure of attending a Mazda event here in the city and had an absolute blast. Mazda really knows how to throw a party! They were announcing the release of the all new 2018 Mazda6 Signature and boy that thing is classy. Before I dive deeper into, a heads up for those of you who don’t know me very well, I am a huge and I mean HUGE car enthusiast, so just take that into consideration.

As I stepped into the event, I was immediately greeted by two 6’s, just staring back at me as if they were Joey from Friends like “How you doin?” This was such a well thought out appreciation party and there were also a couple of surprises in store as the night went on. You had your photo booth, private VIP bar, hors d’oeuvres, and a table cooking up some of the best fried chicken I’ve had. Mazda put their heart into this and it was obvious to say the least.

Let’s talk a bit about the car! The first thing that caught my eye was the sporty grill and headlight combo. It gave this otherwise 4 door family car a really aggressive feel, and I was all for it. Made my way inside and I was met with beautiful Sen Wood paneling, wider than normal Nappa leather seats, an Ultrasuede trim, and when the car is on, a very cool heads up display right in the windshield. Then we got to the real meat and potatoes: the motor. A Skyactiv-G 2.5t, and when run on 93 octane this turbocharged 2.5 liter bad boy can produce 250hp and 310lb of torque! That’ll get you to your local grocery store to grab the bread you forgot in no time!

All joking aside though, this car is simply breathtaking. Which isn’t surprising since I’ve always been a huge fan of Mazda’s inspiration and how they design their vehicles. The brand just understands their audience and puts their focus into anything that can please us, just like the appreciation event I was attending. Did I mention they had celebrity chef Carla Hall there hanging with guests as well as Ben Folds closing out the night on the piano? Oh yeah, it was quite the night!
